The Body Shop Red Musk Eau de Toilette is a cozy yet sexy fragrance that combines the warmth of cinnamon and seductive spiced musk with a touch of tobacco.
It’s one of those scents that is feminine with a slight masculine edge. As I get older, I find myself being drawn more to fragrances that balance between the two or even that slightly dip more into the masculine side. I think it’s because I already have plenty of sweet scents that I enjoy, and this is new territory to explore.
Over the years, I’ve done many fragrance reviews on here, and while some are expensive and others fall in the middle of the road, what I love about The Body Shop fragrances is that they are very affordable, allowing more people to test-drive a new scent.
Additionally, The Body Shop Red Musk contains cruelty-free musk and is enriched with Community Trade alcohol from Ecuador. More on this later in the review.
P.S. On my nails, I’m wearing Pretty Serious Stud Muffin from the Well Meaning But Ultimately Quite Awkward Pet Names Collection.

The Body Shop Red Musk Eau de Toilette Review
The Body Shop Red Musk Eau de Toilette is a warm, spicy scent that contains notes of cinnamon and musk with just a bit of tobacco.
Sometimes spicy fragrances can be really heavy and suffocating, but somehow this scent is light.
The musk is the foundation that blends everything together, but it doesn’t pull down the fragrance or overwhelm you.
Although my first thoughts are that The Body Shop Red Musk perfume is cozy and suitable for the colder months, it’s still light enough to feel appropriate to wear in the warmer months, too.
I also think that it’s suitable to be worn during the day as well as the night.
Even though it’s an eau de toilette and not an eau de parfum, I found that The Body Shop Red Musk lasted surprisingly long on me.
I expected it to only last for two or so hours, but it was only at the four or five mark that it really started to fade on me to the the point where I couldn’t detect it much.
That was using one spray on each wrist and then dabbing my wrists onto the sides of my neck. Perhaps if I used doubled the amount, it would last even longer.
You won’t have to worry about your perfume blaring like a loud trumpet to announce your presence when you wear this. The Body Shop Red Musk Eau de Toilette stays close to the skin, and it’s what I’d call a ‘cuddler scent’ because only when people come very close to you will they enjoy it.
Because of this, it’s suitable to wear to many difference occasions, as it won’t assault people’s noses, and it’s down-to-earth enough to be used on a daily basis. Very easy to sport!
How gorgeous is the bottle? I love the ombre and how it’s light at the base and blends into orange and red. Then, to top it off, there’s a black cap. It really suits the name Red Musk.
The bottle shape is very simple and straight-forward. No frills. It has a cylindrical bottle with a cap that looks like a knob.
Many fragrances on the market come with a high price tag. However, I absolutely don’t believe that an expensive perfume equals a better one. You can splurge on a luxury fragrance, and it can be terrible, and you can find an inexpensive one that you adore. It’s all about personal preference and experimentation.
In my perfume collection, I have a wide range that goes across the board, but when I find a fragrance at a low price that I love, it’s like icing on the cake!
The Body Shop Red Musk perfume is very affordable. You can get 60 mL for $30 CAD or 100 mL for $38 CAD. This means that more people will be able to try it out instead of being shut out because of the price, and that makes me really happy!

The trade supports CADO towards the goal of helping its members fight poverty without losing their traditional way of life or destroying the environment.
