Welcome to the first ever Swatch And Learn 2010 Beauty Awards! Best Supporting Role, Best Duet & Best Group is the 3rd of 7 award posts.
No one beauty product stands alone when it comes to achieving makeup perfection. Today, we salute the beauty products that give it their all without asking for credit… the products that understand it’s all about support and teamwork. Today, we show our appreciation.
Here are our winners for Best Supporting Role, Best Duet & Best Group Awards:
Best Supporting Role
This award is given to the products that aren’t in the spotlight, but help the star product shine more brightly.
Creasing – what’s that? Fading – doesn’t exist in my world. Melting – simply laughable. All true after I discovered this Too Faced eyeshadow primer. This is one of those products that you’d hardly remember is there (it’s lightweight, sheer and super blendable). Oh, but you’ll know. You’ll know because your eyeshadow colors pop, the product stays on longer, and it’s much easier to apply. That’s why it wins my Best Supporting Role award. It quietly steals the show! Worn, tired and creased eye makeup? Fuggetaboudit! Not on this primer’s watch.
I feel like ever since discovering this wonderful eye-shadow primer, it has unlocked a magical makeup world. Before I was used to shadow creasing on me by the end of the day. With this baby, my eye shadows never crease! Plus it intensifies colors and packs a pow-wham-zowwie comic-book punch. I really appreciate how this single cosmetic investment has brought long-forgotten shadows back to the forefront by helping to reveal truer and more vivid pigmentation. (And it’s one of the only eye primers I can wear because it doesn’t contain Bismuth Oxychloride, a known allergen.)
This award is given to the 2 products that work well together.
Skincare? Seemingly yawn-inducing, right? Not when it helps you wake up to a smoother and more hydrated canvas that looks better natural or makes putting on makeup easier. The Vichy cleanser is one of the best that I’ve tried – it sweeps into pores and rinses skin of dirt. And the Vichy toner is great at minimizing pores and controlling the pH balance. They work wonderfully together to give me great skin the next morning – all without leaving my skin feeling drier than the Sahara. Keepers in my book!
Eyeliner defines the windows to your soul and can take you from natural beauty to burlesque diva. Unlike pencil eyeliners, the Maybelline gel liner doesn’t smudge or budge! I’ve put this on in the morning, went to work, went for a night out on the town, and came home in the wee hours of the next morning – this stuff stayed put! The black is dark and creamy. And the brush it comes with makes applying gel eyeliner as easy as using a pencil liner. Love the convenience how this pair comes together and how I don’t have to pay extra for the brush. This is one of those drugstore gems I’m glad I tried!
This award is given to the ensemble that works cohesively as a team.
Listen. One gotta look good – even on vacation or just dashing across town. That’s why this handy travel kit wins my Best Group award – it keeps my makeup flawless whenever I need it. The purse-friendly travel pouch houses 4 Sigma face brushes and 3 Sigma eye brushes for easy full-face touch-ups so I always look fresh. And it’s 8 brushes actually, since a Sigma foundation brush comes along with it as a free gift. Nice, huh?
It’s been a while since a nail-polish collection has been so hotly anticipated like the Orly Cosmic FX Collection. Each color garners attention with intense sparkle! Plus the formula is pure perfection – goes on smoothly, is opaque in 2 coats, and dries quickly. They also come with the great rubberized handle that provides greater application control. And because the collection includes purples, blues, a green, and a unique multichrome, there’s a color for everyone.
