Haha, if you saw yesterday’s Smorgasbord Sundays post, you got to giggle over some fun swatches of Cult Nails My Kind of Cool Aid on a guy!
I sported this awesome grayish purple polish a couple of weeks ago, but after he made the debut swatches, I had to follow up with these. 😉
This polish is tricky to capture accurately on camera because even in person, it changes a bit. If you take the colour in my flash photos and natural-light photos, the real colour is a cross between the two.
(Funny thing: The colour in my Smorgasbord Sundays post is pretty accurate, and it was done with the camera’s flash.)

Cult Nails My Kind of Cool Aid Review
My Kind of Cool Aid by Cult Nails is a purplish gray that’s simple, chic, and anything but boring.
While I normally go for loud nail polishes, when I opt for the subtle variety, this is the kind I like to reach for because it’s classy and easy-to-wear.
The interesting thing about My Kind of Cool Aid is that sometimes it looks like a light gray with a dash of purple, but other times, it looks like a purple polish with a dash of gray. Shades like this that morph slightly and play tricks on your eyes are the ones that keep my interest.
My Kind of Cool Aid by Cult Nails is described as a creme polish with a hint of shimmer, and I think that’s accurate.
Overall, it looks like a creme polish, but when your nails catch the light at a certain angle, that’s when you’ll see the silvery shimmer peek through like sugar on cookies.
Application & Formula
The formula on this was extremely pigmented, but to get even coverage, I had to use 2 coats. A single coat, however, nearly covered the entire nail.
It was easy to work with, and it’s also easy painting other people’s nails with this. Hehe! (If you missed yesterday’s Smorgasbord Sundays post, check it out for a laugh.)
Final Verdict: 8/10
My Kind of Cool Aid by Cult Nails is a sophisticated muted colour that I feel is easy to wear and that keeps your nails looking well-groomed without adding a jolt of crazy colour.
While Cult Nails Unicorn Puke (Clairvoyant) is still my favourite polish that the company has ever released, My Kind of Cool Aid is still very, verrrrry nice! 🙂
What’s on your nails today? Do you like purplish-gray polishes? What’s your favourite dusty/muted nail polish?
