The beautylish team whipped up an article about holiday manicure ideas. They included photos of manicures done by fellow members. I was honoured to have been included among such a talented group of women!
Below is the screenshot. Check it out, and get inspired by the others’ nails that are full of personality! (And if you’re not already a member, sign up – it’s free!)

To achieve this look, I layered two nail polishes from the Nicole by OPI Selena Gomez Collection due out in January 2013: Kissed At Midnight (gold glitter) and Pretty in Plum (purple).

As usual, when I receive wonderful news like this, I like to thank all my readers (new and old) for making blogging a very rewarding journey! I know that we all lead very busy lives, so the fact that you’ve taken the time to leave comments means the world to me. Thank you for encouraging and inspiring me! The nail-polish community is a very creative and welcoming place.
I have some cool news to share: My wonderful reader, Frances (aka Frosso) from Lacquer Me Silly, told me yesterday that we were featured on beautylish!
They chose to highlight her whimsical Tim Burton MoMa-inspired manicure and my neon skull nails.
(Click here if you want to see my traditional black-and-white-skull nail-art tutorial for it. You can check out the original beautylish article here or by clicking on the below screenshot.)
There are also lots of interesting designs from other talented ladies. It’s very inspiring to see their self-expression! I highly recommend you check it out and join beautylish if you haven’t already – it’s free and fun.
Whenever I receive amazing news like this, it always reminds me to thank you for being so supportive. I really value my blog readers, whether you’ve been with me since the very beginning or have just found Swatch And Learn today.
I’m proud to be part of the nail-polish community – we’re a strong and creative group! I feel like we’ve learned so much from each other, and it makes me smile just thinking about how a similar interest (haha, or obsession!) like nail polish can bring people all over the world together.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog despite your busy schedule! I know that we’re all really busy, life gets stressful, and sometimes we feel like we can’t even breathe. So the fact that you’ve spent any time on here is a big deal to me – it hasn’t gone unnoticed.
On another note…
What are you up to this weekend? I’m going to be up to something really cool! Although I won’t spoil it by saying what it is yet, I can tell you that it made me scream for joy on the inside and squeal like a happy Wilbur the pig on the outside! *Pinches self to make sure it’s not a dream* But, don’t worry, I won’t be a tease for long. 😉 I’ll definitely be blogging about it (probably next week). Keep your eyes peeled like a banana…(I also hope to start the Milani giveaway soon. It’ll be open to everyone!)
Hope that you’re all having a wonderful Saturday so far. My weekend has been off to a good start, and I’ve been busy, busy, busy…like a bee. 😉
This is a short second post for today because I wanted to share some cool blog news with you. beautylish did an article on bug nail art, and they included the Bee Nails I did earlier!
You can check out the original article here, but I’ve captured the screenshots below:
Several months ago, I actually tried out cutepolish’s ladybug nails. If you’re interested, you can check out my tutorial for Ladybug Nails here.
Thank you all for your tremendous support and encouragement. Reading your comments and interacting with you on Twitter, Facebook, Google+, etc., has been so rewarding and insightful! 😀
Have a great weekend!
This is a quick second post for today.
As you may know, I visit beautylish fairly often – it’s a great place to get inspired by others, but also to learn new tips and tricks when it comes to nails, hair, makeup, and more.
To my surprise (and great honour), beautylish featured my Easter Egg Nail Art in one of their articles alongside the creative designs done by two other talented women!
You can view the original beautylish article here or see below for the screenshots:
Thank you to the beautylish team for making my day, and thank you to my Swatch And Learn readers for encouraging me to continue testing the nail-art waters. 😉

It’s a huge honour, and I’m always so grateful that beautylish has been so supportive of my creative efforts since when I first joined their community on August 23, 2011.
If you haven’t signed up yet, I strongly recommend that you do. You’ll literally be inspired in a matter of seconds. There are so many great people there who are talented.
I also want to thank you all (old and new followers of my blog) for your support as well. I’m having a blast getting to know you all better and sharing opinions on products that we’re passionate about.
Okay, and after seeing on their site that blue hair is the spring trend, I have to ask you now…Have you ever sported blue hair? Would you?
Back when I was in university, I thought about dying my hair blue, but I was too much of a chicken to follow through with it. *Bawk bawk bawk* 😉
Here’s a second quick post for today. Beautylish featured my Magician Nails in one of their articles! (They’re the ones on the far left.)
Below is the screenshot, but you can also click here to see the original article. I suggest checking it out because there are also other awesome nail looks that will inspire you.
Ever since I first joined beautylish (August 23, 2011), their team has constantly been very supportive of my nail designs, so I’m very thankful! And I love how they’ve built a strong beauty community that fosters a positive environment to share your work with others and also to learn from others.
It’s encouragement that really helps people muster up the courage to try new things. I’m trying to do that on Swatch And Learn, too.
Thank you all for keeping me company through my blogging journey!
P.S. I did some New Year’s Eve nail art. Look for that on Swatch And Learn really soon. I’ll try to get it up before the 31st.
This is a quick second post for today.
I’m really excited to share this news with you! The Strawberry Nails I did were featured on beautylish! (If you’d like to see my step-by-step tutorial with written instructions and photos, click on the link.)
beautylish did a post focusing on fruit-inspired manicures. You should really check it out because they’ll remind you of great summer memories! And it might just make you feel toasty despite Old Man Winter getting ready to show us what he’s made of.
I captured some screenshots to share, but you can also view the original beautylish article here.

When you click on the article to read more and then scroll down, you’ll see my strawberry nails. (It’s the second image from the top.)
I am honoured to be mentioned on beautylish and to be featured alongside talented beauty lovers showcasing what they can do.
And, of course, I have to take this opportunity once again to thank all of my blog readers and followers.
Getting to know you better has made blogging fun and rewarding. Thanks for being by my side along this journey! And thank you for making my polish obsession seem normal… 😉
