Since I first heard that breathable nail polish existed, I’ve been itching to try out the INGLOT O2M breathable nail polishes!
They have so many colours, and I drooled over all of them since I attended a blogger event last year and met INGLOT’s two Canadian presidents! (I swear that I left a puddle from all the drool, so if you see some wet nail-polish bottles in the Toronto store at Yonge-Dundas Square, it was from me.) 😉
It was a difficult task choosing a few shades, but INGLOT O2M Breathable Nail Enamel 682 jumped into my loving nailphile arms as quick as a wink because it’s a wonderful Marsala shade, which is Pantone’s Colour of the Year!
(Not long ago, I had the pleasure of spending a snow day with this lovely INGLOT nail polish, which you may remember from that post where I took it for an outdoor photoshoot.)
After making snow angels, enjoying a warm cup of cocoa, and telling ghost stories late at night by the fireside, INGLOT O2M Breathable Nail Enamel 682 agreed to let me snap it for a typical Swatch And Learn photoshoot. 😉

INGLOT O2M Breathable Nail Enamel 682 Review
The minute I spotted INGLOT O2M breathable nail polish in shade 682, I knew instantly that I had found a spot-on Marsala hue! I was certain that it would be the very first one I’d wear and review in-depth, too. (What can I say? Nail polish and I are like this. *Crosses fingers* And the Pantone Colour of the Year to boot? Yes! Or should I say, “YAAAASSS!” Haha, the writer in me cringed when I typed that, even though it’s slang.)
As I mentioned in this post, Marsala is described as an earthy, warm, reddish brown. That definitely describes INGLOT’s O2M Breathable Nail Enamel in 682. It’s got that warm, earthy feel, and it’s so flattering on many different skin tones. It pulls that 1990s feel that reminds me of my childhood when I was in elementary school and watched the original Beverly Hills 90210 TV show. Marsala lipsticks were all the rage!
(Go watch re-runs from Seasons 1-4, and you might laugh. Nearly every single female sports a Marsala lipstick, and during that time, I remember my best friend and I going gaga over a Bonne Bell Lipstick in the shade Chutney. Do any readers out there remember that lipstick? An extra 10 points if you do!) 😉
INGLOT O2M Breathable Nail Enamel 682 looks like a creme polish on the nail, but when you inspect the bottle closely, you can see subtle shimmer throughout. (It’s this shimmer that I think keeps the polish from looking flat.)
Application & Formula
When I spoke with Silver Laus, one of the INGLOT Canadian presidents, he told me that the O2M breathable nail lacquers can cover well in a single coat!
I know a few polishes that hold such high prestige, but it certainly isn’t a common quality, and as you know, I’ve tried my fair share of lacquers. So I applied INGLOT O2M Breathable Nail Enamel 682 and observed the first coat carefully.
I’m very ecstatic to report that shade 682 is definitely a one-coater! 🙂 Although it was so pigmented and achieved full opacity in one coat, I still used two coats out of habit.
The formula was a breeze to work with. It’s not thin, but it’s not thick and goopy. It’s “just right”, as Baby Bear from Goldilocks would proclaim.
It flows so smoothly, and it looks shiny even before you add a top coat. I was very impressed with the formula, but at the same time, I expected it, since the price tag IS $16 CAD. (The more expensive a polish, the more demands I have for it, which I think is reasonable.)
I realize that not everyone is in polish insanity with me. (Although, thanks readers for keeping me company!) Hehe! 😉
I know that not everyone has $17 CAD to drop on a single polish, but if you can afford it and be financially responsible, the INGLOT O2M Breathable Nail Enamels are a great splurge that have a feeling of luxury.
The polish comes housed in a box with a circular cut-out that reveals the shade. It’s simple, but at the same time, it looks very high-end and professional.
But more important just just appearances, it’s what’s inside that counts. 😉
Thankfully, this polish has a winning formulation that you have to experience yourself. Obviously, I can’t speak for all the shades, as I’ve only tried 682, but I can totally vouch for this colour. It applies easily and very pigmented. Even if you’re a nail newbie, this formula makes it a cinch to apply!
With many of the nail polishes that you’ve seen me review on Swatch And Learn, you probably noticed that the vast majority of them have fun names. However, INGLOT nail polishes are just designated a number. The nailphile and writer in me is sad about this because an awesome polish deserves a memorable name. Plus when there’s a name, it’s easier for me to remember.
(Maybe it’s just me, but it’s harder to remember numbers. I only remembered 682 because I kept visualizing June 1982. Haha, I was only a few months old at that time, but remembering a month and year is the only way I’ll ever remember this nail polish. If you’re more numerically inclined, maybe this is easy-peasy for you.)
INGLOT O2M Breathable Nail Enamel doesn’t contain Toluene, Formaldehyde, DBP, or Camphor.
INGLOT O2M Breathable Nail Enamel isn’t tested on animals, so if you’re trying to make more conscious purchasing decisions, this will give you peace of mind.
Breathable Nail Polish
As I mentioned, this is the first breathable nail polish that I’ve ever tried, and INGLOT is the first and only company to create a breathable nail lacquer.
What makes it breathable? It allows oxygen and moisture to reach the nail because it lets air and water through. (This is unlike typical nail polish.) Therefore, O2M Breathable Nail Enamel by INGLOT is healthier.
The secret behind INGLOT’s O2M breathable nail lacquer is a special polymer that’s found in contact lenses to achieve permeability. (Although I’m not Muslim, my readers who are practising Muslims may find this interesting. From what I understand, Muslims believe that it’s important that water make contact with the nail during the washing ritual before praying. For this reason, INGLOT’s O2M Breathable Nail Enamel is an ideal solution.)
Final Verdict: 9.5/10
I gave INGLOT O2M Breathable Nail Enamel 682 a near-perfect score. The only reason I deducted half a point was for the higher price tag and the lack of a fun name. (Although a ‘fun name’ seems frivolous, I’ve grown to really enjoy seeing them instead of just numbers. It adds to the ‘experience’ of a nail polish…or is that just me?)
If you’re curious about trying nail polishes from INGLOT, I highly recommend them based on this experience.
Stay tuned because I plan to wear and review more INGLOT nail polishes! 🙂
